Books that I might have to read
I used to have this habit of buying books and then not reading them. I vowed not to buy anymore, but to borrow from the library. The Woodbridge Library isnt that great; I sort of need to get books on an inter-library loan, especially some non-fictions ones. And I got into the habit of using coins collected in a bottle (my father says its about $75 worth when full) to order for books. There’s a childish pleasure in this that can’t be explained.
I plan to ask Smitha to get me some books too.
Here’s what I got:
Maverick: The Success Story Behind the World’s Most Unusual Workplace
(i lost a copy that I had, its out of print)
Breaking the Constraints to World-Class Performance
Against the Gods: The Remarkable Story of Risk
And what I want to get:
Godel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid
(i tried reading this and it was a mighty tough read, which means i didnt read it)
The Pencil: A History of Design and Circumstance
Longitude: The True Story of a Lone Genius Who Solved the Greatest Scientific Problem of His Time
We-think: The Power of Mass Creativity
Some of them were forwarded to me by Tom from this IEEE list.
So many books to not read . . .
